Roman building types include basilica, bath houses, and the truimphal arch. Rome has some amazing structues such as the Pantheon and the Colosseum. There are many examples of Roman architecture outside of Rome, such as Italy. There is the amphitheatre in Verona.There is also many other examples in France and Britain.

Their architecture was often in rectangular plans with two main streets, then divided into grids with more buildings and streets. they had public baths and buildings for the residences. the romans were famous for their mosaics, gems and cameos.

Art is associated with overthrow of Etruscan Kings and beginning of Roman Republic. Art is divided into two different periods, Roman Republic and Roman Empire.
A basilica was a roofed hall with a wide central area. The earliest well-preserved basilicas are found in Pompeii. Roman temples were located at end of forum. They were also throughout the city and in the countryside.
Romans built architecture to fill a need of the country. Before the Romans, people used architecture to honor the gods.
